Finally managed to get some photos up of Lauren. Top one is of the two girls having their milk before bed - best time of the day!! Next photo - Lauren is starting to develop her own style - she put this outfit together by herself. Lauren loves being a "naked girl" and wearing my boots! The next two photos are of Lauren's first day at Kindy, which she loves. In the next photo she's helping Dave redo the fence. Whenever Dave goes to work outside, she rushes out to help. The next two photos are of Lauren's computer and table (well table is for both girls, but Ella's a little young to use it now!). The bottom two photos were taken at Ella's naming ceremony - Lauren loves her friend Izzy and copies her whenever she can!

Christmas Photos

The first three photos were taken Christmas morning - Lauren opening her presents from Santa which he left in her stocking! The top one shows a Dora The Explorer DVD, which seems to be the in thing at the moment, but will no doubt change again soon! The bottom two photos show Lauren at the end of the day when we popped into Kaye & Martin's house for a few drinks (& ice cream!)- her & James were shattered at the end, and we just popped them in front of the tv!
We had a great day with the girls - they opened their Santa gifts in the morning and then we went over to Dave's sister's house for brunch - more presents for the girls of course! Then back here to open the remainder of their gifts and then we all had a doze before heading up to Kaye and Martin's.
We decided to have our crayfish on Christmas Eve, and despite Lauren not liking it when we bought it, she soon changed her mind once Dave gave her a small bit to taste, and I think she ended up eating about half of it! Poor papa!

Mixed Bunch & xmas photos

The top two photos were taken on Christmas morning - whilst opening presents (more about xmas day in next blog!).
The next photo was taken of the two girls, just looking cute after having had a shower. The next photo is Lauren doing some naked gardening and the bottom photo is Lauren wearing Dave's hat again!

Mixed bunch of photos

Some photos taken of Lauren over the past few months. Occasionally I'm allowed to put her hair in plaits - she doesn't really like anyone brushing her hair, and only Dave is allowed to wash it, so this really is a treat! She looks so grown up when she has her hair up, and hopefully I'll be allowed to do this more often. The next photo is her wearing a top sent over by my parents - she has several similar style tops which she wears with leggings - although she's discovered how easy they are to take off, and most afternoons she's running around the house naked! Because it's hot, I'm not particularly fussed, but hopefully it's just a phase she's going through!
The next photo was taken at Kelly Tarlton's which Lauren loved. She really loved watching all the fish, and thought the penguins were excellent. The next photo is Lauren with her beloved papa - she's wearing his hat and loves taking it off whilst yelling 'yeeha!' The bottom photo shows Lauren with two of her (many) bags - she often takes off round the house carrying many of them.

Lauren's birthday

Here are a few photos from Lauren's 3rd birthday party. Pretty self explanatory - Dave cutting cake, Lauren blowing out candles, the cake (Handbag with LC in silver balls on it) and the bottom photo was taken at the playgroup morning tea for her birthday, where she is sitting next to her friend Harry.

Thursday 23 October 2008

The top photo was taken at the weekend - we went to stay with Charly & Greg at Omaha, which is about an hour north of Auckland. We had a wonderful time, and Charly even managed to get Lauren in the sea! The next photo was taken at the park - I think Lauren was the only child wearing sunnies! The next photo was taken at Ambury Farm a couple of weeks ago - Lauren really enjoyed the animals, and they seemed to like her too! The fourth photo was taken last week when the two of them were sitting playing together. Lauren is constantly talking to Ella, telling her how beautiful she is, and she often gives Ella kisses, which makes Ella smile.
The final photo was taken about 4 weeks ago and was the last day that Lauren wore nappies! She decided to change her dress into head gear, and spent about an hour walking around like this! Dave was working in the garden, which is why Lauren has her hammer in her hand! So she is now toilet trained, and it's gone really well. I'm sure my thighs are thinner with the bending down that I'm doing, so am trying to look at it positively!
A month today will be Lauren's 3rd birthday - am not too sure where the time has disappeared to! She will then hopefully by attending homebased childcare for one day a week, allowing me to spend more time with Ella, or at least that is the theory!

Sunday 21 September 2008

The first photos were taken 23 August, when Lauren was helping Dave put some more gravel onto the driveway. Anything that we do, she wants to help with, which is lovely, providing we don't want it done quickly!!! The next photo is with her eating her icecream - the first one that she's had that is just hers! The next photo was taken when her friend Samantha came to play - Lauren and Samantha play together really nicely. The bottom photo was taken several weeks ago - we've started taking the girls to the pools, which they both enjoy. Ella wasn't too sure of it at first, but loves the water and just wants to be where Lauren is!

Lauren is changing daily - her vocab is growing fast and she amazes Dave & I with some of the things she comes out with!!! She told Dave to "calm down" the other day when he was getting excited over the rugby!

Thursday 14 August 2008

The top photo is of Lauren's garden - we now have new recycling bins and so I took one of our old ones and planted carrots in it. Lauren loves checking on their progress every day! I have also started a worm farm and Lauren loves going to feed and talk to the worms too! The next 3 photos are of Lauren jumping in the rain! The weather has been so bad, that she takes every opportunity to get outside when she can, but this time when it started raining again, she was having so much fun that she just stayed outside! The next photo is generally what happens if I try to put Ella under the playmat whilst Lauren is around - Lauren thinks it's time for her and Ella to have a sleep, so she gets a blanket and lies down next to Ella! Unfortunately Ella doesn't really get to play with her toys, but then again she doesn't mind what Lauren does, as long as she's near! Ella just adores her big sister and watches her everywhere she goes.

The last photo was taken a few weeks ago - Lauren has gone through a phase of taking her top off (whether pjs, or normal top) and turning them around - this was the first time she'd managed to get it inside out as well! The blanket over her legs becomes a dress, skirt, wings, headdress - just depends on her mood! Could she be a fashion designer I wonder?!

I've been diagnosed with Post Natal Depression, which is probably why the websites haven't been updated recently. Thankfully the medication is taking effect, and I've been feeling much better and more positive this week. I've realised that I haven't really taken many photos of Ella, so will try to do so and update her website by the end of the week.

Wednesday 25 June 2008

The top 3 photos were taken at the local park a couple of weeks ago - Lauren really enjoys going there and climbing around and then going down the slide. She doesn't like the swings though and refuses to go on them! The next photo was taken in the bath - am not too sure what she was up to, but I walked in and she looked so cute I just had to take a picture! The final photo was taken this lunchtime - I was tidying up her room and went into the lounge for some more of her toys and when I returned, she had put all her toys in bed and had climbed in with them! In fact, as I'm updating the blogs, she's reading them a story!!!

Lauren is growing up so fast - her vocab is expanding every day, and she can count up to about 14, which I'm sure she's learnt from the television! She loves playing with playdough, crayons and stickers - I haven't really been brave enough to go for paints yet! She loves being with Ella and brings her toys and makes sure that she's ok. Thankfully both girls seem to have recovered from their viruses, but am sure that we'll have more before the end of winter!
