More photos this week. The ones with the animals were taken today - we took Lauren to Butterfly Creek, by the airport. We didn't go into the Butterfly bit, but instead walked around the farm, looking at the animals. Lauren loved the area with the rabbits (also had guinea pigs, which were cute!) as she could stand on the seats and hold onto the rails and look down into the pens and see the animals. As you can probably guess the weather has turned lovely and warm, and Lauren loved being without socks - she kicked her legs all day!

The next photo was taken yesterday - I thought it would be nice to have a photo of just her face. The next one is of her & James - this was taken on Monday at his house, and is of the two of them sharing their toys. The final photo was also taken today and is proof of her crawling. However, Lauren only crawls to get a toy - other than that she just rolls around and kicks her legs!

The latest thing is that she is pulling herself up on furniture and loves standing and holding onto something for support. Dave and I make sure that we have our hands/arms around her, but it's usually just to catch her if she falls. I think that she's going to skip the crawling stage, and go straight to walking. I wonder if I'll be able to keep up with her!

Lauren was 10 months old yesterday - don't know where the time has gone to! She's going to get more vaccinations tomorrow, and I'll probably get her weighed on Tuesday, just to check that she's still gaining weight.

Some photos of Lauren with her family - Kitty actually comes to find Lauren and sits right beside her - she just purrs whilst Lauren pulls her whiskers, ears, tail, etc and grabs handfuls of fur! The pink outfit was given to Lauren by Paul & Amy (my family). Lauren loves being in the washing basket - she normally has some pegs to play with.

This week Lauren has started to commando-style crawl, but only to reach her toys! Once she's grabbed them, she's back to sitting up, or rolling over to play with them. She's been full of giggles today, and has been quite talkative. And yet another week passes by and I'm really not too sure what we've done!

Sunday 10 September 2006

A couple more photos this week - both taken yesterday. The first one is Lauren in her party dress - it was a friend's birthday this weekend and I decided to use some of the pretty dresses that Lauren has been given (this one was given to her by Betty & Peter Deal (family friends), and is really a summer dress, but once I had a top on underneath, a cardie and some tights, Lauren was warm enough!) The next photo shows Lauren playing with some toys lent to her by her friend James. She is wearing an outfit given to her by my friends Claire & Mike Porter.

Another week flying by, and everything is pretty much the same. Lauren is starting to move around by herself - she loves just sitting on her bum and going round in circles by moving her legs. She is also starting to push herself up onto all fours when she's on the couch or a bed, but hasn't really mastered it on the floor (although she has done it a couple of times.) I'm sure it won't be long before she's crawling, and then she'll probably be too quick to take photos of!

Monday 4 September 2006

More photos of Lauren - the one in the bath was taken yesterday - she has just started to hold onto the side and try to pull herself up - she hasn't yet got enough arm strength! The next one is her playing - note the pointed toe and very straight leg! The following one is her playing again - this outfit was given to her by her godmother Lou and Paul - very cute, although as usual her socks are coming off! The final photo shows Lauren sitting on her bed clapping - this is the trick of the week, although she actually only moves one hand!

Another week that has literally flown by and I'm not too sure where the time has gone to! Sunday (yesterday) was Father's Day over here and we went to Mission Bay for a walk along the beach front - along with nearly every other family! We stopped and had an ice cream - Dave gave Lauren a tiny bit of his one, but she seemed just as happy with her biscuit! Otherwise a quiet weekend.

Lauren's teeth are coming along (you might be able to spot them in the photo of her clapping), and there have been a few nights where I've not had much sleep! She's totally recovered from her cold, and we're off to have her weighed tomorrow.
