Monday 23 October 2006 - 11 months today!

Some photos taken yesterday - Lauren loves looking in mouths, so maybe she'll be a dentist when she grows up! Lauren eating a muffin - she loves the mini ones, which she can eat all by herself - just the right size for little hands. Dave gave Lauren her first hair cut yesterday - well he only trimmed the long bit that hangs in her eyes, and she looked so much better afterwards - it probably doesn't show in the photos, as I normally try to push the piece of hair to one side - but don't need to bother with that now.

This week has been quite busy - went to Playgroup twice, which Lauren enjoyed, and consequently slept afterwards! Have been out & about a lot, mainly as Dave has been at home sick, so have tried to leave him in peace. We thought he was getting better, and was eating again Saturday and yesterday, only to have everything go through him last night - so guess he's back on just water today! He's losing weight, although I don't know if it's a diet I want to follow!

Sunday 15 October 2006

Well as you might have guessed Lauren has her first pair of shoes! We bought them today, and although she's wasn't too keen at first, she's discovered that her walking has improved. Unfortunately she'd already done some crawling before I took the photos - so the shoes are scuffed!

The first photo was taken yesterday at Lauren's first invitation to a birthday party. The boy in the picture is William and Lauren knows him from playgroup - they play together every Thursday morning and are really very cute. This was also the first time for both of them in a sandpit - although don't know how much sand was left as they had both eaten quite a bit!

Lauren is really crawling this week - she's off and about and loves following people. She still crawls to furniture & people to pull herself up and walk around, as she really is happiest on her feet - hence the shoes! She's been much happier towards the end of the week - full of laughter and smiles. It's made me realise that she's not really been herself for a week or so, and I think the cause of that could be her third tooth, which looks like it's about to appear any day. This is another bottom tooth - to the left of the two she already has - hopefully she'll start getting some top ones soon, otherwise she could look quite weird!

Monday 9 October 2006

These photos were taken over the weekend - Lauren has started to crawl to furniture in order to pull herself up and walk around - she's happiest when standing! I've tried taking photos of her whilst looking at the camera, but her latest trick is to close her eyes!

A better week this week - although have still had a couple of days where she doesn't want her midday sleep!

Monday 2 October 2006

Couldn't connect to the website yesterday, so sorry this is a day late!

Weather has been wonderful this week - spring has really arrived. Shame it rained yesterday, and forecast is to continue this week. Unfortunately Lauren wasn't as good last week - am not sure whether it was due to the injection on Monday, or her teeth, but she definitely wasn't her normal happy self. She wasn't sleeping very well, which was hard for me having to get up frequently every night. However, she slept through on Friday night, and again last night, and she's definitely back to herself now.

As you can see from the photos she is starting to pull herself up whenever she can. She's still not particularly bothered about crawling, although on Saturday afternoon we did discover she can crawl - providing she has an incentive. She is definitely Dave's & my daughter - she saw a bottle of Lion Red beer and just headed straight for it! No matter where we moved the bottle, she went after it!!!

She was weighed on Tuesday and has put on more weight - she is now 9.1kg - which is about average for her age.
