Some Christmas Photos - all in a mixed up order!

The first one shows Lauren on Izzy's chair at the races on Boxing Day. The one of James & Lauren sitting on the steps at Kaye & Martin's house was taken on Christmas morning. The one with Lauren and me was taken at the races - check out her sunglasses - a present from Dave & me.

Lauren was taking Brian for a walk on Christmas eve - every time she comes near him, she manages to grab his fingers and get him walking around with her! The final photo is Lauren with our Xmas lunch - although this was taken when the crayfish was still alive.

Hope you all had a great christmas - we did.

Monday 18 December 2006

Oops, completely forgot to do this yesterday! Just a couple of photos taken this week - the first was at the Playgroup Christmas do - they had a mobile farm visit the children, which most loved. Lauren had a ride on the pony, but she didn't seem overly impressed with it! We also saw some geese, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and rats, but again she's probably too young to appreciate it all. However, she did enjoy sitting on the grass with William - his outfit didn't stay white for long! The photo on the bike was taken to show my parents what they had bought Lauren for Christmas - she loves it, although it is now hidden from her.

The final photo was taken just before we headed off to Playgroup. My parents had sent the fairy outfit for Lauren's birthday, and she kept the head bit on for a while, but soon pulled it off. She loved her outfit and I'm sure will be wearing it quite a lot!

Nothing much else to report this week - she's only walking between the couches. She now has all top four front teeth, but still only 3 bottom teeth, and is generally a happy, smiley girl, unless she wants something I won't give her, and then she screams - I don't know where she gets her independence from!!!

Sunday 10 December 2006

Some more photos this week. The top one was taken yesterday - Dave & Brian are probably discussing the merits of Lion Red beer, whilst Lauren has been keeping Daphne occupied! You can also see this in the photo of Lauren leading Daphne - Lauren walks so fast that everyone seems to have trouble keeping up with her! The photo of Lauren in the kitchen with her musical instrument was taken on Friday - after we had purchased this with money sent for Lauren's birthday from my uncle David and his wife Kris - thank you, Lauren loves this and composes tunes for us all the time!

The photo in the pram was taken just as we had got into the pub on Saturday - Brian removed his hat and put it on Lauren - she wasn't really too bothered, and kept it on longer than she usually keeps her own hats on! She is wearing a t-shirt given to her by her godfather, Ash, and his wife, Shea - it says "They Shake Me". The bottom photo shows Lauren in her sandpit - she's kind of getting the hang of it, but does like to use the spade and rake to eat from! In this photo she's wearing a t-shirt given to her by Mark & Tara (our friends) and it says "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" - Tara bought it when she went to see Dirty Dancing on stage earlier this year.

Well the big news this week is that Lauren has walked by herself - this happened at about 5.00pm on Friday and at the moment is just between the couches, with a sort of dive/lunge at the end. However she's also standing up by herself and for quite long periods of time, so I'm sure it won't be long before she lets go of Daphne's hands and walks by herself. I'm not as kind as Daphne and won't walk around for hours with Lauren holding my fingers, and because Daphne & Brian have now gone off to visit the South Island for nearly two weeks, Lauren will be walking/crawling by herself!

Lauren's appetite has really increased over the past week and she is now eating a whole banana, rather than just part of one. She's also loving raw red pepper, and no doubt I'll be trying her on the other coloured peppers this week too. She's almost eating non-stop, but this could be just a phase she's going through.

This week we have the Playgroup Christmas party on Tuesday, and the final one on Thursday, until early Feb, so I'll be finding other ways to occupy Lauren on Thursdays from now on. Otherwise am hoping for another quiet week, to catch up with rest and sleep after the past few hectic days with Daphne & Brian.

Sunday 3 December 2006

These photos were taken yesterday - we bought the sofa for Lauren with some money sent to her by John (Dave's mate) for Lauren's birthday. The sofa opens out to a little bed, and Lauren loves it. In the second photo she is staring at her dada!

She is still not walking - but is starting to stand up by herself without any furniture. She likes falling back onto the beanbag, and learnt the hard way that the beanbag isn't always there! She is also starting to hit me - so am trying to find ways to stop her from doing this. If I say No to her in a stern voice, she laughs!!! Her top teeth are coming through, and have been causing her a little pain.

We have just moved her cot into her playroom at the front of the house, as my relatives, Daphne & Brian, are coming to stay and so Lauren has to move back into just one room. She's stirred a couple of times tonight, but am hoping that once the kids outside stop playing, she should sleep through. Otherwise, we've had a quiet week - after the hectic couple of weeks, just wanted a week of doing very little, and we succeeded!
