Some more photos this week. The top one was taken yesterday - Dave & Brian are probably discussing the merits of Lion Red beer, whilst Lauren has been keeping Daphne occupied! You can also see this in the photo of Lauren leading Daphne - Lauren walks so fast that everyone seems to have trouble keeping up with her! The photo of Lauren in the kitchen with her musical instrument was taken on Friday - after we had purchased this with money sent for Lauren's birthday from my uncle David and his wife Kris - thank you, Lauren loves this and composes tunes for us all the time!
The photo in the pram was taken just as we had got into the pub on Saturday - Brian removed his hat and put it on Lauren - she wasn't really too bothered, and kept it on longer than she usually keeps her own hats on! She is wearing a t-shirt given to her by her godfather, Ash, and his wife, Shea - it says "They Shake Me". The bottom photo shows Lauren in her sandpit - she's kind of getting the hang of it, but does like to use the spade and rake to eat from! In this photo she's wearing a t-shirt given to her by Mark & Tara (our friends) and it says "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" - Tara bought it when she went to see Dirty Dancing on stage earlier this year.
Well the big news this week is that Lauren has walked by herself - this happened at about 5.00pm on Friday and at the moment is just between the couches, with a sort of dive/lunge at the end. However she's also standing up by herself and for quite long periods of time, so I'm sure it won't be long before she lets go of Daphne's hands and walks by herself. I'm not as kind as Daphne and won't walk around for hours with Lauren holding my fingers, and because Daphne & Brian have now gone off to visit the South Island for nearly two weeks, Lauren will be walking/crawling by herself!
Lauren's appetite has really increased over the past week and she is now eating a whole banana, rather than just part of one. She's also loving raw red pepper, and no doubt I'll be trying her on the other coloured peppers this week too. She's almost eating non-stop, but this could be just a phase she's going through.
This week we have the Playgroup Christmas party on Tuesday, and the final one on Thursday, until early Feb, so I'll be finding other ways to occupy Lauren on Thursdays from now on. Otherwise am hoping for another quiet week, to catch up with rest and sleep after the past few hectic days with Daphne & Brian.
